Who is our H2 Econs tuition for?

Students who understand lectures but don't score
The content makes sense, but it isn't turning into marks.
Students who are doing fine but want an A
You need sharper evaluation and essays that answer the exact question.
JC2 students heading into promos, prelims or the A Levels
You want timed case study and essay practice with real feedback.
Students who learn better in small groups
You want your own writing read and corrected, not a lecture hall.

What H2 Economics actually tests

H2 Economics isn't about memorising definitions. The A Level paper, assessed through case studies and essays, tests whether you can apply concepts to real situations, use data and evidence, and weigh up arguments to reach a justified judgement.

Where JC students lose marks

1
Analysis that skips steps
Jumping from cause to outcome without explaining the economic mechanism in between.
2
Not using the case evidence
Case study answers that ignore the data and extracts given lose easy marks.
3
Weak evaluation
Ending with "it depends" instead of a judgement backed by reasons and context.
4
Diagrams that don't match the answer
Diagrams drawn but not explained, or not labelled properly.
5
Essay structure
Answers that don't address the exact question, especially the higher mark parts.
6
Timing
Running out of time on the final essay or the last case study questions.

What H2 Economics covers

The Central Economic Problem
Scarcity, choice, opportunity cost and how decisions are made.
Markets
Demand and supply, elasticities, firms and market structures, market failure and government intervention.
The National and International Economy
Economic growth, inflation, unemployment, the balance of payments, macroeconomic policies and international trade.

How our H2 Econs classes run

  1. 1
    Small groups
Tutors read each student's writing, not just teach at the room.
  2. 2
    Topic first, then practice
Each topic taught properly, then applied to real exam questions.
  3. 3
    Timed case studies and essays
Practice under real timing, the way the paper runs.
  4. 4
    Detailed feedback
On structure, analysis and evaluation, so you know exactly what to fix.

JC1 or JC2: when to start

JC1: the best time to start
Foundations like demand and supply, elasticity and market failure run through the syllabus, and getting the answering technique right early makes JC2 much easier.
JC2: still plenty of time
Before promos or prelims, we focus on essay and case study technique under timed conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Is H2 Economics tuition worth it?+

It helps most when a student understands the content but isn't converting it into marks, usually in essay structure, use of case evidence or evaluation. Small groups mean that writing gets read and corrected, which lectures can't do.

How do I improve my H2 Economics essays?+

Answer the exact question, build a clear chain of analysis step by step, use a correctly labelled diagram that you explain, and end with a judgement backed by reasons. Timed practice with feedback is the fastest way to get there.

When should I start H2 Econs tuition?+

Ideally in JC1, while the foundations are being taught. JC2 students can still make real progress before prelims and the A Levels.

Which TGC centres teach H2 Economics?+

All 3 centres, Potong Pasir, Bukit Timah and Bishan, teach H2 Economics.

Can I try a lesson before signing up?+

Yes. Book a trial lesson to see how our H2 Econs classes run before you commit.
