Where Sec 4 students lose marks
O Level Physics topics where marks slip most often
A worked O Level Physics question: speed-time graphs
Question: A car starts from rest and accelerates uniformly to 12 m/s in 4 s. It then travels at 12 m/s for another 6 s. Find its acceleration, the total distance travelled and its average speed.
How our O Level classes run
- 1Small groupsTutors check on every student, not just teach at the room.
- 2TGC's own notesBuilt around where Sec school students lose marks.
- 3Demos and real-life examplesPhysics you can see, from magnets to circuits.
- 4Topic first, then exam papersEach topic taught properly, then practised the way the real paper asks it.
Sec 3 or Sec 4: when to start
Your Sec 4 Physics year with TGC
- 1Terms 1 and 2: finish and firm upComplete the remaining topics, usually electricity, magnetism and radioactivity, and fix gaps from Sec 3.
- 2Practical prepHands-on sessions before the Paper 3 practical exam.
- 3Term 3: prelimsFull papers under real timing, then a review of every mark lost.
- 4Term 4: the national examCrash courses and targeted practice on each student's weakest chapters.
What you get as a TGC student
- TGC's own O Level notes. Summary sheets, definitions lists and MCQ practice.
- Support outside of class. Questions don't have to wait until the next lesson.
- Practical and crash course sessions. Focused prep before the practical exam and major papers.
- Free O Level cheatsheets. One for every chapter, with formulas, exam traps and a worked example.
- Student perks. Discounts at partner merchants, and a referral reward of up to $110 when you invite friends.
- Snacks every lesson. Students keep mentioning them in their reviews.

What students say
“Before attending his classes, my physics grades in secondary school were always F9... I am extremely grateful to score an "A" for my O Levels.”
“I managed to improve from a D7 to an A2 in Physics during my O Level year!”
“Mr Seah is an incredibly entertaining individual and through his lessons I learnt many physics concepts I don't think I could have grasped in school. My score also improved from a C6 to an A2!”
“He will always answer my questions even if I'm doing them late at night... somehow I managed to get A2 for O Levels!”
“I was constantly failing at physics, but TGC has really helped to improve my conceptual understanding and my exam skills... I eventually jumped to an A in O Levels.”
“He would always find ways to make us drawn to Physics by showing real-life experiments in classes as well as interesting short videos (made by him).”
“He makes use of physical demonstrations to let students witness the concepts being played out in real life. His EMI demonstration was without a doubt a memorable one.”
“For the topic of electricity, TGC would conduct practical lessons, which allowed me to apply my theory knowledge to a real-life setting.”
“I was given fun and enjoyable lessons such as hands on session for physics practical to allow me to be more confident in my physics practical skills.”

Frequently asked questions
Is TGC good for O Level Physics?+
TGC's O Level students have gone from F9 to A, D7 to A2 and C6 to A2, and 86% of our students scored A1s and A2s. Classes are small groups at Potong Pasir, Bukit Timah and Bishan, with practical sessions for Paper 3.
What does TGC's O Level Physics programme include?+
Weekly small group lessons, TGC's own notes and MCQ practice, practical sessions for Paper 3, crash courses before prelims, free cheatsheets for all 22 chapters, and help between lessons.
How much is O Level Physics tuition at TGC?+
WhatsApp us at +65 8920 0792 for current fees and class timings.
Is O Level Physics changing in 2027?+
From 2027, Sec 4 students sit the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) instead of the O Levels. Pure Physics becomes G3 Physics (syllabus K323, exam code 6091). The 3 papers, their weightings and the 20 topics stay the same, so preparation doesn't change.
How do I go from a C to an A in O Level Physics?+
Usually by fixing a few specific things: learning definitions word for word, writing explanations that link cause to effect, getting comfortable with the data-based question, and doing full papers under timed conditions. Small groups help because a tutor can spot which of these is costing you marks.
When should I start O Level Physics tuition?+
Ideally in Sec 3, when the foundations are laid. Students joining in Sec 4 can still improve a lot, with the focus on exam technique and their weakest chapters.
Is O Level Physics hard?+
It feels hard mainly because marks go to exact definitions, clear cause-and-effect explanations and careful graph reading, not just knowing the formula. Once those habits are trained, most students find their grades climb quickly.
How many topics are in O Level Physics?+
The G3 Physics syllabus (K323) has 20 topics across 6 sections: Measurement, Newtonian Mechanics, Thermal Physics, Waves, Electricity and Magnetism, and Radioactivity. TGC's notes and free cheatsheets split these into 22 chapters.
What is the difference between Pure Physics and Combined Science (Physics)?+
Pure Physics is a full subject with its own 3 papers. Combined Science covers two sciences, such as Physics and Chemistry, with less content in each. Pure Physics goes deeper and is the usual route for students heading to JC H2 Physics.
Do you teach Pure Physics or Combined Science?+
Our classes focus on Pure Physics. WhatsApp us if your child takes Combined Science (Physics) and we'll advise on the best fit.
Do you help with the practical exam?+
Yes. We run hands-on practical sessions covering measurement, tables, graphs and the planning question.
Which TGC centres teach O Level Physics?+
All 3 centres, Potong Pasir, Bukit Timah and Bishan, teach O Level Pure Physics.
How small are the class sizes?+
Classes stay small by design, so every student gets checked on individually, not just taught at as part of a large group.
Do you run O Level Physics crash courses?+
Yes. We run crash courses ahead of major exams for focused revision. Current sessions are listed on our crash course sign-up page.
Is there a referral reward?+
Yes. You can earn up to $110 when you invite friends to join TGC.
How do I book a trial lesson?+
